| | Pictures from my PORK eatin Days
That day I crave for Juicy Pork, my mind finding hard times choosing the type of pork to conquer, Chasiu chinese style, hmmm ate too many of that kind of pork lately. Out of sudden a bulb appear and suggest Why do you have to choose, 2 style of Pork in one sitting, Manadonese and Batak style Pork that holding hands in perfect harmony in a place call Senayan eateries near Senayan Shooting Range , just behind Indonesian Parliament Office.
Arrived there at no time, Batak (North Sumatran) eatery at left, crowded, busy and noisy as usual, I choose to take refuge on Manadonese (North Sulawesi) eatery next door that looks more serene and quiet. Still can listen to the blaring Batak Trio singing Spanish Besame Mucho song though.
Eventhough We sat in the Manadonese Restaurant, we can order food from any restaurany in that small eateries complex, I ordered my Babi Panggang (Suckling Pig Batak style) and Saksang Babi (Pork stewed in spices and blood) from the Lapo Tondongta next door. The Babi Panggang came with two kind of dip, Crushed andalimen spices (a very distinct Batak spice) and bird eye chilli.
From the Manadonese eatery We order Babi Kecap (Pork in sweet soy sauce), Babi Rica (Pork with fiery chilli, lemongrass, ginger, kaffir lime leaf and pandanus leave), Sate Babi (Pork Satay), Tumis Kangkung (stirfried hot kangkung), Sop Brenebon (Pork Hock soup with Red Kidney Beans) and came with the default side dish of Dabu-dabu, Salsa of chopped chilli, shallots, tomato and lime juice.
The Manadonese restaurant also served Babi Woku, Ikan Rica (Spanish Mackerel in chili sauce), Sate Ayam (Chicken Satay, Ikan woku (fish in spicy yellow sauce) and Babi Woku.
We ate all the food with much gusto and minimal conversation, what a PORK savouring day.
This eatery also famous for it's Manadonese Traditional cakes, I order, Panada, Biapong, Apang Coe to go
For Binyo out there (hi Lita and Tipoy), pls check the food name and do correction if necessary, thanks Babe
